Why A Better Hope?

Christian framework for a better hope

God designed you to flourish. Researchers have spent decades studying what that looks like and have developed numerous frameworks that promote wellness.

But if these frameworks don’t include God, they’ve missed the source of flourishing itself.

So what does a flourishing life look like when it’s rooted in how God designed us to live, love, work, and endure?

That’s the foundation of A Better Hope. It’s a framework for flourishing that starts with our relationship with God. Only then can we love others as we are loved, discover who we are (identity), why we were created (purpose), how we can face any circumstance (resilience), and how we use what He’s entrusted to us (stewardship).

All the resources are free. Please look around and come back often. If you have a question, contact me at Dear Hope.

About Dr. Tonya

For most of my life I achieved things. Degrees. Titles. Awards. A career that looked impressive from the outside but often left me running on empty from the inside.

I’ve walked with others through faith, loss, and life for more than thirty years—leading small groups, teaching and speaking, hosting spiritual retreats, and sitting with people in their hardest seasons. But much of the time, I wasn’t really flourishing.

Because I was spending more time doing for God than being with God. I was looking more at outcomes than God’s faithfulness.

If any of that sounds familiar, you’re in the right place.

There are still areas of struggle, but I’m learning a better way to live, and that’s what I’m sharing at A Better Hope. You might say I’ve slowed down but also diversified. I’m grinding my own grain and baking bread. My husband built me a greenhouse. I’m raising chickens. I’m homeschooling my 5-year-old twin grandsons.

And I’m flourishing—and would love to help you flourish as well.
